I came across this idea from blogger "Baking Bites". I think this is such a great idea if your wanting to do something other than cupcakes. Cake-sicles"! Bake them, then frost and decorate. You can also use the pan to make Crispy Rice Treats on a Stick. The pan is actually really cheap on Amazon at just $11.99 and I checked out Ebay and found them there. The advice that "Baking Bites" gives is great:

Cookies are thick and sturdy enough to hold their shape well if you slide a popsicle stick inside to complete the look, but cake can crumble when you put it on a stick. Instead, take two cakesicles, sandwich them together with frosting and dunk them into chocolate (white, milk or dark) to give them a real popsicle look. This is how the cakesicle in the photo above was made.

Today I attended the Cupcake Social 2.0 hosted by the girls from Cupcake Takes the Cake Blog. It was such a cleaver and neat idea, to mingle with the cupcake lovers of Austin. There were several well known cupcake bakeries out today showcasing their goodies. This was a great day!!!

What a great idea to personal your wedding. These are heart shaped suger cubes for your guest to use with their coffee or tea. Great idea would be to customize the color to match your wedding colors.

New Project

So, I have done my research and think the plan to start my Event Planning/Custom Favors/Coordination and all that jazz company is on way. The problem that I am coming up with is a name. This for some reason is the hardest thing for me. Being a marketing person, I know it’s important to have a name that will have marketing appeal and longevity.

Maybe a new venture.....

Currently I am studying to get my Masters in Communications and I just got a job at a very awesome bakery, so I am so busy its crazy. Being able to work in this bakery is really teaching me a lot about the business end of things, which is great.

When I do have free time, I have been thinking lately what I shall do with my degree. Well, along with doing the cupcake plan, I am very interested in event planning and weddings. Over the summer I took a certification in Event Planning, and love it. A friend kind of gave me a nudge to think about starting my own PR/Event Firm…so I am thinking about it…very much….

Hey,

Its May...and boy is it hot here in Texas. I am currently working on getting our menu together. Who knew how much work it was doing something you love. I have also gained a Flickr addiction, but it has allowed me to meet some bad ass people doing their own creative thing. I plan to post some new pictures here soon.

So, I know your asking the question why the “The UnderGround Cupcake”, well let me give you a little history on how this all started.

Living in Austin, Texas, music is all around you. I love music, I love cupcakes, I love being creative and I thought why no join all my loves into one big ball of happiness and, well that’s how the UGC started. I am have no musical talent (other than banging on pots and pans) but wanted to be an artist in my own sense. Well, I make a mean cupcake, and thought I could write my songs in the recipes of my sweet yummy cups of love. I wanted to create something that people could eat, that would give them that same feeling they get when their listening to their favorite song.

So, this is my first post, my first time blogging…Wow, I feel so cool!! So, what’s been going on since I decided to venture on my journey of Cupcake Queen? Well, I have hired a fabulous web designer to create a logo for me, and so far I am beyond stoked. I hope in the next week or so, to be able to post my new logo design. Also, I have set up a website, which is still under construction. Trust me, when its done, its going to be Rockin!!!

Well, I am off to think of my new cupcake flavor….
